The news of coronavirus (COVID-19) and its ongoing impact on everything from federal interest rates to your ability to attend church services is now capturing the attention of our country.

While you might be wondering how coronavirus is impacting your work, home, school and community gatherings, I want to take a moment and assure you that we (your AskDrErnst health team) are committed to serving you during this moment of uncertainty.

These moments often create tremendous fear and anxiety for those not rooted in their faith and understanding of where healing and protection from an illness comes from.

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ – Isaiah 46:10.

God orchestrates history according to his will – nothing that has transpired over the past few months (or what is still yet to come) has caught God by surprise. We are called to live according to his will during this time. Not to be anxious, but to walk in the power of His Spirit and share with the world the truth – your body has the ability to protect, prevent and even heal from the coronavirus.

According to the World Health Organization, Coronavirus is characterized by mild symptoms such as runny nose, sore throat, cough, fever and that the illness is often self-limiting (resolves naturally). When your immune system is working at its optimal rate, an infection will produce mild flu-like symptoms and resolve naturally. The concern comes only with those with increased susceptibility (the elderly or those with other pre-existing medical conditions) who might be more vulnerable to further illness or fatality. Note: According to the CDC the estimated broad range of fatalities of COVID-19 is 0.25%–3.0%. This implies a survival rate of 97- 99.75%!

As of March 16th, 6,687 people worldwide have died from the coronavirus. Around 7% of active cases are in critical living condition. On the other hand, of the closed coronavirus cases, 92% have been recovered and discharged without any complications.

While the news of Coronavirus is rushing through every media channel, and more than likely overtaking your daily conversation – take comfort, guard your thoughts and mind against the world and focus on the comfort given to you by God – “In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33)

Our commitment to you also extends to your time in the office for your chiropractic adjustments and nutritional care:

  • We are running a HyperHepa filter 24hours a day which can filter particles 10x smaller than most viruses
  • We are diffusing Tea Tree/OnGuard oils which carry natural anti-viral properties
  • We are using hand sanitizers between each adjustment
  • We are sanitizing all areas of high touch points multiple times throughout the day – We are providing sanitary towels for use during traction and vibration.

At the moment I urge you to resist the temptation to forgo your chiropractic and nutritional care – if anything it’s time to increase your focus on your spine, nerve system, and immunity.

Chiropractic and Coronavirus: Research shows that even a single chiropractic adjustment can positively benefit your immune system. A three-year clinical study conducted by Ronald Pero, Ph.D., chief of cancer prevention research at New York’s Preventive Medicine Institute, shows that those who receive chiropractic care have a 200% greater immune competence than those who do not. Chiropractic care can provide other ways to keep your immune system strong including stress management tips and immune-supporting supplements.

Your Gut and the Coronavirus: Your immune system and gut are intimately connected. It’s estimated that as much as 80% of your immune system resides within your gut. An out-of-balance gut/microbiome can weaken your immune system. To enhance your gut/immune health eat plenty of fermented and cultured foods, focus on your prebiotic (ION/ Restore) and probiotics (MBC) rotation which can also enhance your immune system strength.

Your Diet and the Coronavirus: A strong immune system begins with what you find at the end of your fork. Load up on antioxidant-rich vegetables and focus on low glycemic fruits (berries), for instance, which can decrease free radicals, which ultimately keeps your immune system strong. The omega-3 fatty acids in wild-caught fish/grass-fed meats can help manage inflammation levels. The cellular healing diet we have introduced to you provides all the nutrients you need to keep your immune system healthy.
