Would You Want To Know Before or After A Diagnosis?

It’s one of the most terrifying diagnoses. It can mean a major life change, for the person diagnosed and their loved ones. Finding out that you have an active growth, or cancerous tissue somewhere in your body can be one of the most defeating times in your life. Unfortunately, a new cancer diagnosis is made once ever 30 seconds in the US! (By the time you finish reading this newsletter approximately 8 people have been told they have cancer!)

Some of you reading this may understand what I mean. And herein lies the problem. When you are diagnosed with cancer by the medical system, it’s reactive. The tumor already exists. It is already growing somewhere in your body. Even when medicine touts its “preventative scans” such as mammograms and colonoscopies, if the test comes back as positive, that means that you already had the cancer growing inside your body before the diagnosis!

What if there was a way for a test to be proactively ahead of the cancer diagnosis, to truly be a preventative test. Would you take it? If you were at a higher risk to develop a specific cancer for whatever reason, would you want to know if your body was heading towards developing a tumor before the tumor markers latch onto tissue and start to grow? I certainly would! Did you know these tests exist!

Lets take a look at some of our best recommendations for truly preventative cancer screening tools:

1. Thermography – The same technology that we use in our clinic to establish normal/abnormal autonomic neural interference patterns; but used in a different way. Thermography will measure the tissue temperature beneath the surface of skin to measure metabolic activity. This scan is most widely used as a better predictor for breast cancer in women. Not only have studies shown that thermography is a better predictor of an active tumor growth in breast tissue, but the thermography test is able to show increased metabolic activity within the tissue before the tumor has even started to grow! Keep in mind this is a nonspecific test, so if a positive thermography test is returned it is important to rule out the other non-cancerous diagnoses. But if this is discovered before a tumor has even started to form, obviously the potential for a positive outcome increases drastically! We have several patients who undergo breast thermography on an annual basis to ensure their breast health is being maintained. One provider that Dr. Ernst and I trust is Dr. Katz at Thermography Charlotte and Gaye Walden at Holistic Breast Health. 2. Circulating Tumor Cell (CTC) test – as the name suggests, this test looks at quantifying and qualifying different cancer cell markers in your blood. It can do so at every cancer stage, from pre-cancerous to stage 4. What’s more is that this test can be analyzed to determine the risk of the cancer spreading or returning, and once isolated the cancer cells can be grouped based on efficacy with different therapeutic treatments, so that you will know what treatment option might be best to reduce the cancer cells in your body. Need more evidence? Recent studies have shown that this test is 87% sensitive to returning a positive result for certain cancer types such as prostate and breast cancer biomarkers. In contrast, the PSA test is only around 30% sensitive in correctly identifying prostate cancer in men.

3. The Anti-Malignan Antibody test – this little known test has been around since the late 80s, and it’s not used in early cancer detection and prevention nearly as much as it should be! This test looks at specific antibodies in the blood serum, with as high of a specificity as 97% in precancerous or stage 1 ovarian cancer diagnosis. More importantly, the AMAS test showed marked elevation earlier on in the tumor progression process than current standard tests in breast, prostate, and ovarian cancers. The cherry on top: there were 0 false positives and 0 false-negatives with the AMAS test. And because I like sprinkles with my cherries: the test is only $250! This may even be reimbursable through medicare and other insurers as well. If you do have or have had active cancer in your body, this test is a great way to stay ahead of any recurrence or progression of the cancer. Patients will add this test to their annual lab work. The test does require medical pre-approval, and can be found here: http://www.oncolabinc.com/order.html

4. Dendritic Cell Therapy – This is a holistic treatment for patients with an active cancer diagnosis. In fact, we have had several Cornerstone patients have success in eliminating or limiting their cancers using this therapy! What’s cool about the dendritic cell therapy is that the cells are taken out of you, altered in a lab, and then put back into you to force an immune response that will signal for programmed cancer cell death to occur. Some research on the topic can be found here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0024320520303283. The closest clinic that does this type of treatment is near Atlanta, GA. 5. Structural Specific Chiropractic Care – Of course, the most proactive approach towards ensuring that cancer cells never take hold in your body, is to get adjusted regularly to ensure the tone of your nervous system and immune system. Chiropractic has been shown to reduce cancer pain (which is unique amongst all types of pain) and elevate various natural anti-cancer portions of the immune system, most specifically natural killer cells (NK cells) which are programmed to remove cancer from the body. Most chiropractors are forward thinking individuals that know and understand the value of a proactive approach to all aspects of health – even cancer. One famous chiropractor, who would more than likely run every test I discussed in this newsletter is Dr. Vern Pierce SR, DC who is famous for saying “To know is to test, and to test is to know”
