What Can You Learn About Your Health From Your Face?

Your face may be saying more than you think about your health. An alternative Chinese medical practice known as “mein shiang,” or “Face Reading” has been in practice for more than 3,000 years. Essentially, your face has been mapped, with features linked to various organs. Any wrinkles, discoloration or pimples/bumps in the various regions hint to an organ/system issue.

I have always expressed that the human body is an amazing creation, designed for a specific purpose and for longevity with health included. When you know how to “read the body” and respond accordingly, it further becomes evident in your body’s intelligent design.

Understating “mien shiang” is as easy as looking at your reflection and diving deep into your life’s history of obstacles and health victories. The challenge today is most women (and men) simply cover up their “mien shiang” instead of embracing the intelligent warning system for cause & effect.

    • Have you ever put concealer or coverup on your face because of some skin blemishes, bumps, or acne on your face?
    • Have you ever noticed these issues are usually in the same spot (under your chin, between your eyebrows, etc.)
    • Have you ever wondered why they come and go?

Rather than covering up those lines, hiding those spots and using makeup to reconfigure the appearance of your face, first seek to learn if these markings pose a greater threat to your harm than the appearance of a wrinkle.

Your face is divided into categories based on its shape, and zones with 12 distinguishing facial features such as the hairline, brow bones, chin, and jaw. Would you agree with me that blemishes, wrinkles and other distinctive markings typically fist appear on the forehead and migrate downwards with age?

Consider the following example as one way to analyze your possible struggles by the location of blemishes:

Left/Right Side of Lips: Large Intestine

Cheeks: Lungs

Below Eye: Kidney

Outer Forehead/Hairline: Bladder

Under the Lip/Chin: Kidney/Bladder

Zygomatic (Cheek) Arch: Stomach

Middle Forehead: Small Intestine

Although we often find ourselves fixating on the lines on our face as a reflection of our age, researchers have found that facial skin health runs much deeper than what is visible to us. By analyzing participant’s faces in photography, they found several health links associated with facial pigmentation and skin quality.

  • Pox spots or cold sores near lips: Stomach ulcer
  • Changes in the middle of the upper lip: Hormonal changes, presence of fibroids and fertility complications in women

Your Nose:

  • Swelling veins in nose: Deteriorating kidney and bladder function
  • A bulbous nose: Overconsumption of alcohol and possibly an inflamed heart

  • Dark skin surrounding eyes: Declining kidney health and possible kidney stones
  • “Folding” between eyebrows: Weakened immune system and poor functioning lymphatic system
  • Reddened eyebrows: Poor sleep quality or overstimulated nervous system
  • Red spots or pox around eyebrows: Possible flu symptoms

Your Face Color:

The next time you look into the mirror, thank your “Mien Shiang” and start cleansing those organs for lasting beauty and outstanding health.
