Stop Using Your Smart Phone/Tablet In Your Bedroom!

In today’s digital age, our reliance on smartphones, tablets and now “enhanced vision apparatuses like Apple’s Vision Pro” is unparalleled, with these devices serving as constant companions from dawn till dusk. Yet, while we reap the benefits of connectivity and convenience, there lurks a silent threat in our work place, transpiration, home and even bedrooms – electromagnetic fields (EMF) emitted by charging all these devices as we sleep.

Understanding the EMF Menace:

Electromagnetic fields are a form of radiation emitted by electronic devices, including smart phones, tablets and any electronic device for that matter. Did you know that when your smart phone/tablet/iPad when plugged into a wall charger emits as much or more EMF when unused than when not plugged in and active.  The majority of people today confess to placing the phone near their bed to be a clock/alarm and plug it in to charge while they sleep – which only intensifies exposure, leading to adverse health effects as the EMF field emitted can be as much as a 10 foot circumference!

Disrupting the Sanctity of Sleep:

Quality sleep is vital for overall health and well-being, yet the presence of EMF near your bed can disrupt this essential nightly ritual. Studies suggest that exposure to EMF, especially during sleep, can interfere with the body’s natural circadian rhythm and melatonin production leading to difficulty falling asleep, frequent awakenings, and reduced overall sleep quality.  Is your poor sleep quality due to the fact you allow these smart devices into your bedroom at night?

Unraveling the Health Implications:

Beyond sleep disturbances, prolonged exposure to EMF has been associated with a myriad of health concerns, ranging from headaches and fatigue to more severe conditions like cancer and reproductive issues. While research on the long-term effects of EMF is ongoing, caution is warranted, especially considering the ubiquitous nature of electronic devices in modern life.

Mitigating the EMF Threat:

Fortunately, there are steps you can take to minimize your exposure to EMF and safeguard your health:

Keep Your Distance:

Charge your cell phone away from your bed, preferably in another room, to reduce proximity to EMF emissions while you sleep.  Its recommended to not have any electronic devices, especially those plugged in charging within a 10 foot distance from your sleeping location.  This decreases the EMF exposure by 98-99%.   NOTE: You can charge your phones closer to you in Airplane mode with an external battery pack as that has been shown to have nearly ZERO additional EMF compared to a outlet powered phone charger.

Use Airplane Mode:

Activate airplane mode before bedtime to disable wireless communication functions, effectively reducing EMF emissions from your device to nearly 0%.

Invest in EMF Protection:

Its essential that you decrease your EMF exposure when using your device and note that you should NEVER hold an active phone screen to your ear when making a phone call.  Instead close your EMF case flap to protect yourself from the harmful EMF emitted from the screen.   We use and recommend https://www.shieldoncase.com/

Limit Screen Time:

Minimize cell phone usage before bedtime to mitigate exposure to EMF and promote better sleep hygiene as these devices emit a very bright “blue light” that can cause your nervous system to be over stimulated.  At night your brain wants to wind down, and the colors that help that are orange/red (think sunsets).  Blue light on the other hand signals a waking message (think blue sky of the day).  Thus, eliminating blue light emitting devices at night an help you to sleep better.

Create a Tech-Free Sanctuary:

Transform your bedroom into a sanctuary free from electronic devices, allowing for optimal rest and relaxation without the intrusion of EMF.  This will revolutionize your sleeping patterns and overall sanity and health.

While the allure of keeping your cell phone bedside you at all times may seem irresistible, the hidden dangers of EMF emissions demand attention.

By understanding the risks associated with leaving your devices connected and charging near your bed and taking proactive measures to reduce exposure, you can prioritize your health and well-being in an increasingly connected world.
