Chocolate Covered Nuts
A perfectly healthy holiday treat that fits right in with the season. These toasted treats are sugar-free and a great source of healthy fats, antioxidants and protein–not that your lucky Christmas recipients will be thinking about that as they enjoy the great flavors!
- 4 oz butter
- 3 cups of nuts (walnuts/pecans)
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/8 tsp sea salt
- 1-1/2 tsp stevia
- 1/4 cup xylitol
- 1/2 cup almond butter
In a saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat. Add cocoa, stevia, xylitol, almond butter and salt. Mix well.
Add nuts (walnuts/pecans). Mix to cover nuts. Spread onto parchment paper and refrigerate until solid. Keep refrigerated.
